I was born in the 1980s - alright, 1989, in September, but anyway! - it goes without saying, I love this song and the video! I'm sure most of us thought Carly Rae would disappear after "Call Me Maybe" but if you give her album a proper listen, you will honestly have trouble finding a favourite. They're all great and infectiously catchy. Before you know it, you'll be having pillow fights and talking about cute boys!

I don't enjoy large scale painting

I thought I'd show you where I'm up to with my largest work this term. There are certain restrictions within the brief as to what we have to include but otherwise we're free to do whatever we want. There has been a real focus on being self-directed this last part of the year.

Yet again, I've taken the abstraction route and you may recognise the colour scheme from my self portrait. I did attempt to create more of a realistic, painterly representation but I just can't do it. I've been working upside down to focus on shape and form more but it appears the kind sir might have lost a bit of weight in mine. It's about 65% complete.

There are people complaining because the chocolate isn't physically pink and thus, not a real supporter of The NZ Breast Cancer Foundation. Idiots.

What they should be complaining about is how awful it tastes! The raspberry bits are so bloody sour and yet there's something moorish about it. I reach for another piece hoping it'll be tastier than the last but ultimately my buds are left unsatisfied.

The latest on Jase's long hair

As my hair continues to grow and I get that much closer to living out my dream as the Rarotongan Rapunzel, it seems I am having to adjust my shower routine to suit. Yes, my shower routine. The worst part of having long hair now it would seem.

Hop in - face - hair - pits - puss - back puss. All of that goes smoothly, but it's when I approach my last destination, my shoulders, that I strike a problem. I've always had this strange phobia of getting soap in my hair. I guess it's kinda like believing if you eat the crusts of your bread, your hair will go curly. I don't know what I think will happen exactly but in my mind it is not good.

You can stop squinting to make out my bootay, it's a fake pixelation over speedos!

It used to be easy to avoid but now my luscious locks fall halfway down my back. When the loofah returns north from it's adventure down south, it's all foamy and so are my hands and so is my body. There is no foam-less part of me to cleanly toss my hair out of the way, and even if there was, tossing it would just land it on my foamy front side. What a dilemma! Perhaps a shower cap will fix my pickle? Or simply tying it up? But that's another minor phobia... tied up wet hair.

Maybe bald's the answer.

I have a weird fascination with grass and I think it'll stick with me until the day a full grass print suit surfaces in the fashion world. But as far as backgrounds go, I was getting over it and wanted to replace it with something cute and cartoony. I decided to take something manly, insert saw, and make an adorable clipart pattern for me blog. I think it compliments the green quite well, which, by the way, I toned down a little bit if you hadn't noticed!

I'd first heard her name last week during a conversation with a lecturer and then again in a Facebook comment from a friend so I thought I'd better find out who exactly this Judy Darragh lady is everybody is comparing me to.

Formerly known as the "Queen of Kitsch", she's a Kiwi artist who creates her art from cheap, discarded materials. I love tacky and she makes tacky work!

Last years Hamilton River Festival saw her plant hundreds of fluorescent ping pong balls all down the bank. The work urged people to get involved and reflected ideas about communities working and labouring together. I'm so inspired, I may just have found my final essay topic for the year. Yus!

Being gay myself, I'm not shocked by guys wearing lipstick or fake nails, nor do I care but it's when I see these things along with two hairy pins that my eye brows suddenly raise. Is this a new trend because I'm noticing it all over the place!

It's a concept I can't get my head around because if you're a guy who likes wearing dresses, wouldn't you want the silky smooth legs to match? You don't ever see drags with moustaches or armpit hair so I'm just like - why the legs?

MTV's The Valleys. I had already decided I didn't like it before it even started.

I felt like I was cheating on my Geordies when I tuned in to the premiere of The Valleys. Everywhere I looked, all I saw was Geordie. On a side note, are there any normal looking people anywhere in Britain? I'd see fat and red hair, and be reminded of Holly, a guy coming out of the closet, and be reminded of James. Yes, the cast and template of the shows are pretty much identical but these Valleys (is that what we're nicknaming them?) really brought the drama to the table. And then they had sex on it - it was that good!
